The Lies Men Tell

Behind their charming smile and the smooth words they use,

Are their mean deceiving ways that they reveal to women when they choose.

They say they care, pretend to have a heart.

But they are just lines and disguises that are corrupt from the start.

They say that they “love” you and express their love in that physical way.

Then when discovered they’ve sown their seed, they “up and run” with nothing to say.

Now these women these men have left are single mothers who are emotionally unwell.

All because of the lies men tell.

Now these single mothers are left to raise their children through hardships, through strife.

All because these men have come in and messed up their life.

Their hearts and trust have been so broken into,

That they could NEVER trust another man, no matter what he may say or do.

Even if one day “the right man” did come along,

This time the woman would be smart, un-naïve and strong.

They wouldn’t fall for the smile or smooth words the men would try to sell.

They would always remember from before of the lies men tell.
